Recently a Town Hall meeting was held in Sunnyside, NY, and was hosted by the newly minted Western Queens Coop Coalition. The purpose of the meeting was to educate and inform Coop homeowners about the impact that Local Law 97 will have on their maintenance charges.
The featured speakers included Jane Menton, Sunnyside Towers Board member, and event organizer; Charles Herzog, Celtic Park Board member, and event organizer; Alicia Fernandez, Queensview & PCCC Board member and event organizer; Geoffrey Mazel, Legal Advisor to the PCCC; and PCCC Co-President’s Warran Schreiber and Bob Friedrich.
Council Members Julie Won and Tiffany Caban were invited to this event. Only CM Won came to the meeting and engaged in meaningful conversation with the Coop leaders at the end of the event.
The event was covered by the local press and AM New York did a comprehensive piece on the event, including interviews with many of the panelists.
