The Passing of Paul Vallone

It is with a heavy heart that the PCCC Executive Committee announces the passing of former New York City Council member Paul Vallone. Paul represented New York City Council District 19 from 2014 to 2021. During his time in the NY City Council, Paul became a great champion for Co-op homeowners in his District and throughout the city of New York. In 2018, Paul was a pivotal figure in the historic sale of the ground leases from Cord Meyer to the Co-ops in the Bay Terrace Community, effectively saving the homes of thousands of Co-op homeowners.

In 2020 in the early stages of the pandemic, Paul fought on behalf of the Co-op community to have them included in the Paycheck Protection Program funds. He introduced a resolution to the New York City Council urging Congress to include Co-ops in this program.

Thanks to his efforts millions of dollars were channeled to Co-ops in the Bay Terrace Community, providing essential relief from the economic ravages of the pandemic.

Most importantly, Paul was a dear friend to all of us on the PCCC Executive Committee. He was a dutiful, professional, dedicated public servant, who always put people above politics. He was a true gentleman and will be dearly missed. Our condolences go out to his wife Anna-Marie and his three children.
